Visits/Pasture Walks Flora Fauna Farm is a small family business -- but it is also our home. From time to time we host pasture walks to introduce people to the benefits of pasture intensive rational grazing using sheep to do the task, and we lead them around the 20 designated acres.
We are happy to provide tours, explain the benefits of natural farming methods, demonstrate wool spinning, and more. We kindly remind you, however, that this is our residence and we do not have staff nor "standard hours" for tours. If you'd like to visit, the best thing to do is to call or email in as far advance as possible and we'd be happy to schedule something with youl.
Fleece for Hand Spinners
Our high-quality wool is loved by hand spinners who give it very high marks for softness and cleanliness. We sell bags of our wool to hand spinners by the whole fleece or in one-pound units; we also sometimes have our own hand-spun yarn available. We sell our wool regularly at sheep and wool festivals in Vermont and around New England, as well as at some farmers markets and local shops. Spinners may contact us for a direct purchase as well. Some customer comments about our wool include: good tensile strength, nice staple length, good cleanliness, cottony soft, not scratchy, easily processed, gorgeous color, white - easily dyed, nice grease amount, felts nicely.
Montadale Sheep From time to time we do sell some of our sheep. Please contact us to inquire about any immediate or upcoming availability.
Contact Us Our direct contact information is listed below. We also provide a contact form that you may fill out to provide us with more information about your request/interest. Please be sure to use this form for lengthier inquiries or when writing "after-hours," such as in the evenings. Thank you for your interest!
